Overview

What Are Exosomes?

Exosomes are extracellular vesicles that play a crucial role in intercellular communication. by transporting proteins, lipids, nucleic acids, and other bioactive molecules between cells.

Exosome therapy is gaining a lot of attention in the aesthetic world, and it should come as no surprise as to why. Exosome therapy is a revolutionary and effective aesthetic treatment and uses tiny particles (measuring about 30 - 150 nm) called exosomes.

These exosomes are packed with helpful substances and harness the power of over 2 billion stem cell-derived lyophilised exosomes, potent growth factors, peptides, coenzymes, minerals, amino acids and vitamins!

Prior To Treatment

To maximise the efficacy of your exosome treatment, try to minimise sun exposure for at least 2 weeks and refrain from using active ingredients like Retinol or Glycolic Acid in the days leading up to your appointment. Also restrain from having alcohol, tobacco products, and processed foods with a high sugar and salt content before your treatment.

Treatment

The exosomes are prepared in a serum/gel-like formulation and applied to the skin/hair follicles through microchanneling,

mesotherapy, or microneedling. The duration of each exosome therapy session varies depending on your treatment plan, but typically takes about 30 minutes to an hour.

After Treatment

There is zero downtime, meaning you can resume your daily activities without any interruption. However, you can expect to be red/pink after the procedure for up to 2 days.

During this time, try to avoid sun exposure, strenuous activities, anti-inflammatory medication and skin treatments (other than sunscreen).

What To Expect

You can start noticing improvements in your skin after around 2 weeks, with the full effects appearing at about 6 to 8 weeks post-treatment. It is advisable to schedule a maintenance session every 6 to 12 months for optimal results, and you can expect your results to last anywhere from 6 months to 2 years.

Current applications of exosome therapy in aesthetics include facial rejuvenation, scalp treatments for hair loss, and the enhancement of skin repair processes post-procedures such as laser treatments and chemical peels. These applications utilize the regenerative capacity of exosomes to improve skin texture, reduce scarring, produce up to 600% more collagen and stimulate up to 300%elastin, offering promising results for patients.
