Temple Filler

Temple filler softens hollow temples for a smoother, more balanced upper face.

£300 per treatment area

Overview

Restoring the upper face

The temples are often overlooked, but they lose volume with age, which can leave a hollow look and make the brow and cheekbones look more prominent.

Hyaluronic acid filler restores lost volume for a smoother contour. For some people this creates a softer oval shape, for others a more defined brow area. Your plan is tailored at consultation.

What it can help with

  • Hollow or sunken temples
  • A more balanced upper face
  • A smoother contour from brow to cheek

Your treatment

What to expect

01

Consultation

We talk through your goals, check your medical history and assess the area, then agree a plan and the amount of filler.

02

Preparation

The skin is cleansed and numbing cream is applied if needed. Most fillers also contain a local anaesthetic.

03

Treatment

Hyaluronic acid filler is placed with a fine needle or cannula, in small amounts, checking the result as we go.

04

Review

We check how the area has settled and whether any small adjustment is needed, usually at around 2 to 4 weeks.

Before you book

Please let us know if

  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • You have an active skin infection, cold sore or acne in the area
  • You take blood-thinning medication or bruise easily
  • You have had filler or another injectable in the area before
  • You have an autoimmune condition or a history of severe allergies

Aftercare

After your treatment

  • Avoid make-up on the area for 24 hours
  • Avoid alcohol and strenuous exercise for 24 hours
  • Avoid pressing or massaging the area for the first week
  • Avoid saunas, sunbeds, strong sun and extreme cold for 2 weeks
  • Cold packs can help with swelling, which usually settles within a week
  • Your final result can be assessed after about 4 weeks

Possible side effects and risks

Common and usually short-lived: swelling, bruising, tenderness, redness and pinprick marks. The area may feel firm or slightly uneven for a few weeks while the filler settles.

Less common but serious: infection, an allergic reaction, or filler blocking a blood vessel (vascular occlusion), which needs treatment straight away. Your practitioner will go through these with you at consultation.

Contact us immediately, or seek urgent medical help, if you notice severe or worsening pain, skin that turns pale, blotchy, dusky or blue, any change in your vision, or signs of infection such as heat, spreading redness or fever.

FAQs

Your questions answered

Does it hurt?

Most fillers contain a local anaesthetic and we can use numbing cream, so most people feel only mild pressure or stinging.

Is the filler reversible?

Hyaluronic acid filler can be dissolved with an enzyme called hyaluronidase if needed. Your practitioner will explain when this might be used.
